What We Do

Storytelling is a tradition going back thousands of years, of passing on information and knowledge. For us a story is best defined by Aristoteles: “A story has a beginning, a middle and an end.”

Telling is about selecting, presenting and communicating what you want to say, in all different ways that touch the senses, leave impressions and radiate outwards.

Here is some of what we have done. Everything starts with how we work with storytelling. We would love to come and talk to you about the way we see storytelling and about how we work with this method. When we come to give a talk we like to hold workshops to help you unfold the story that you want to tell.

With sensitivity to our requirements and curiosity along with the ability to understand this place and what we do Kistone helped us very professionally to unite the board and other parties around a common vision and target for development planning. A story framework composed of several parts was drawn up but also a clear prioritising of the various parts, which meant that we progressed beyond division and lack of clarity surrounding what we actually should be communicating about this destination. Regarding storytelling Kistone contributed insightful ideas as well as inspiring descriptions and illustrations about how these stories can be told. Visualizing our future development in this way was probably the success factor that led to the wide acceptance among interested parties.

We consulted Kistone for guidance in working with storytelling at our visitor destinations. Our aim was to develop a working process that could be used for a number of destinations. An important part of this task was to use storytelling to consolidate the history of the destination and thereby increase interest and the visitors’ knowledge about the property and its cultural heritage. Kistone held workshops with us and with our tenants, where they very professionally created consensus and caught the participants’ interest in working with storytelling. Kistone showed great enthusiasm and their work was well structured. We feel that after completion we now had tools and models to go on to use internally.
